Terms of service
Clear arrangements for lessons, payments and the support your family can expect from Ivory Tuition Co.
Updated 26 October 2026ABN 63 858 539 736Your agreement with Ivory
These terms apply to tutoring services booked with Ivory Tuition Co., operated by Julian Ng trading as IVORY TUITION CO., ABN 63 858 539 736. In these terms, ‘Ivory’, ‘we’ and ‘us’ refer to that operator.
Ivory arranges lessons, receives payments and handles service concerns. Tutors may be independent contractors; that arrangement does not remove Ivory’s responsibilities to you. A parent or legal guardian must arrange services for a student under 18. Adult students may book for themselves.
Our service is educational tutoring. It does not include medical, psychological or diagnostic services. By confirming a booking after receiving these terms, you agree to the terms applicable to that booking.
Booking your lessons
An enquiry is not a confirmed booking or a request for payment. Before each lesson, the family and tutor must confirm the student, subject, lesson format, date, time, duration and price. You choose when to start and how often you would like lessons. A preferred weekly time does not authorise automatic lessons or charges.
Lessons are normally 60 minutes and take place online or at home, subject to tutor availability and a suitable learning environment. Please tell us about relevant learning needs and provide accurate contact details so we can arrange appropriate support.
Prices and payment
All prices are in Australian dollars (AUD). The displayed price is the complete amount payable, including GST where applicable. Any different lesson duration or additional agreed service must be priced and accepted before booking.
Pay-as-you-go lessons are billed individually. Package prices are paid in advance. Your payment request will identify the payment methods available and the due date. Do not send card details through our enquiry or support forms.
| 60-minute lessons | Online | At home |

How packages work
Each package is for one student and cannot be shared between siblings.
Package hours do not expire, and there is no deadline to start using them. You can arrange lessons as often as you like, with each session agreed with your tutor.
Unused tutoring hours are subject to our cancellation and refund policy, including the first-lesson guarantee and your statutory rights.
Cancellations and tutor changes
Give at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule without a fee. Send the tutor a written message through your agreed contact channel and keep a copy. If the tutor cannot be reached, contact Parent Support. The time your notice is sent is the time we use.
Late cancellation fees, missed lessons and refunds are explained in our cancellation and refund policy. If a match is not working, you can ask Parent Support to arrange a different tutor. A tutor’s withdrawal does not cause you to forfeit lessons we have not provided.
A safe and productive lesson
Families and tutors must treat each other respectfully and follow Ivory’s child-safety arrangements. For at-home lessons with a student under 18, a responsible adult must remain on the premises and the lesson must take place in an appropriate shared area. Any alternative venue must be agreed and assessed for suitability in advance.
A parent or guardian must be included in communications with a student under 18. Lessons must not be recorded, transcribed or shared without the required informed permissions. Tell Parent Support promptly about any safety concern.
Tutoring supports understanding, study habits and independent work. We do not guarantee particular grades, examination results or admission outcomes. Students remain responsible for submitting their own work and following their school’s assessment rules.
Your rights and these terms
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies a consumer guarantee, remedy or other right that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law. Where our services fail to meet a consumer guarantee, the remedies available under that law continue to apply.
If we update these terms, the updated version applies to new bookings after it is made available. We will not use an update to reduce an existing paid booking’s rights without your agreement. If any term is unenforceable, the remaining terms continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
